FOR THE LOVE OF ART
Her history
Corine grew up in a family of collectors, surrounded by works of art that fueled her passion for creation. Encouraged from a young age, she quickly developed a strong taste for drawing and painting while giving free rein to her curiosity about the animal world.
There was no doubt: a career in art was the path she would follow.

After studying Art History and Fine Arts in Paris, she began her studies in painting restoration and in 1990 was asked to restore part of the collection that now forms the Musée des Arts Forains in Paris.
Then, she opened her own workshop in Paris in the Marais and worked for the antiques community for 15 years, specializing in the restoration and creation of decorative painted canvases from the 18th century, rich in floral and animal motifs.
Alongside her work, she taught art education and trained interns from the Ecole du Louvre in pictorial retouching.

Rich in experience, Corine decided in 2009 to devote herself entirely to her own painting by creating works blending classical and contemporary art.
Her animal creations quickly met with success and in 2011 she had her first solo exhibition at the Galerie Montmartre/Espace Dali in Paris.
Her deep connection with the animal world and her passion for art allow her to forge kind relationships with collectors from all over the world, whom she regularly meets in France and during her worldwide travels. Since then, she has regularly exhibited her works in Europe and the United States.

In 2020, she left Paris to settle in Montpellier in the south of France. This move had a profound artistic impact on her, developing her appreciation for the lush beauty of nature and its rich, luminous colors.

ARTISTIC INSPIRATION
Why animal art?
Here is the truth: Corine Perier just loves animals, finds them beautiful, and enjoys painting them.

For Corine, painting familiar or exotic animals means approaching life with a different perspective on the universe, more in harmony with nature. It's a way to capture the true beauty of things and experience fulfillment. Art holds the same power.

The animals she includes often carry a symbolic meaning. Birds frequently appear in her colorful paintings as a symbol of the connection between the earthly and the divine – messengers between both worlds. Even though animals always add another layer of emotion to the scene.
The natural world is a symbol of perpetual transformation. Corine explores this transformation by sometimes depicting animals as hybrid species, creatures that are both fascinating and untouchable; traditional animal art with a touch of surrealism.

A COMMITTED ARTIST
Her vision
Corine Perier's artistic work is not only based on a certain aesthetic.
By creating a dialogue between the animal world and the natural or urban environment, Corine also illustrates a major problem of the 21st century: the disappearance of species in a constantly changing world.

By painting her animals, she explores innovative ways to represent the endless cycles of change and renewal by adding a touch of strangeness to her pieces. Her animal art is as much a tribute to beauty as it is an invitation to see the world from a new perspective and raise awareness about environmental protection.

By giving birth to imaginary creatures, Corine recreates her own world in search of a peaceful universe, while investing herself with optimism in her artistic practice.
TRADITION AND INNOVATION
Technique

Over the years, Corine Perier gained a passion for the technical aspect of artistic creation, which means she cares about producing quality artwork using traditional methods and the finest materials that stand the test of time.

She paints in oils on canvas and wood panels using the old Flemish glazing method, which consists of superimposing thin, transparent layers of paint.
This glazing technique, which she mastered during her career as a painting restorer, allows her to combine the luminosity of color and richness of details that characterize her oil paintings with a classical finish.

A perfectionist by nature, she develops great patience working on her animal art paintings.
It takes her an average of 3 to 6 weeks to complete a work, not including the time spent researching, documenting, and composing.
Knowing when a work is finished is an art in itself!
« Work always looks easy when work is fun. »
